CROWNE PLAZA NAIROBI

Day 2. Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Lake Nakuru. We’ll arrive in Nakuru before lunch and then go on a safari until sunset. We’ll find ourselves in a world-renowned birding paradise where well-known TV networks such as the BBC, CNN, and TVE—to name a few—gather to film the wonderful documentaries we later see on screen. Nakuru is a sanctuary for the white rhinoceros and home to a wide variety of animals, including lions, leopards, and its famous flamingos. If the lake level permits, we can stroll along the shore and delight our senses with the sounds and colors of the lake and its more than 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.
Day 3. Masai Mara (optional stop at Lake Naivasha en route)
After breakfast in Nakuru, guests can choose to visit Lake Naivasha en route as an optional excursion or head directly to the Masai Mara. If they visit Lake Naivasha, they can take a one-hour boat safari on the lake.
During the boat safari, with a little luck, we’ll be able to spot hippos, fish eagles, and other wildlife. Scenes from *Out of Africa* were filmed in this setting.
Departure for the Masai Mara National Reserve, considered by many to be the world’s best wildlife reserve. Hundreds of thousands of mostly herbivorous animals, along with a wide variety of predators and scavengers, roam freely across its rolling hills and vast grasslands, drawn by the lush pastures and year-round water sources. In the afternoon, enjoy a safari until sunset. Meals and lodging at Mara Maisha Camp, Basecamp Explorer, or Loyk Mara Luxury Camp.
Day 4. Masai Mara
A full day in the Masai Mara dedicated to morning and afternoon game drives. We will visit different areas of the Masai Mara, such as Paradise Plain, Meta Plains, and Burrungant. We will visit the Mara River area where the crossings occur, where herbivores pass during their migration. Our guide will keep a close eye on the vultures circling overhead, as they can signal the presence of predators feeding on recent prey. Optionally, you can visit a Masai Manyata. We’ll see their huts, enjoy their welcome dances, and share experiences with young warriors, women, and elders regarding livestock and hunting. We recommend bringing a picnic lunch to explore more areas of the savanna (at no additional cost). Meals and accommodation at Mara Maisha Camp, Basecamp Explorer, or Loyk Mara Luxury Camp.
Day 5. Masai Mara / Isebania / Serengeti + Night Safari
We’ll pick up guests at the border, and after completing immigration formalities, we’ll head to the Serengeti. We’ll arrive in the afternoon at our lodge, located in the heart of the savanna with views of the plains, and get ready for a night safari—a truly unique experience. Full-board accommodation at Ikoma Tented Camp or Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma Tented Camp.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
We’ll spend the day exploring the park and discovering all it has to offer, driving along its tracks across the vast plains in search of the Big Five: buffalo, elephants, lions, rhinos, and leopards. We will also visit the numerous hippo pools and the famous Nile crocodiles, such as Retina Hippo Pool, a deep natural pool located approximately 10 km north of Seronera, where the Seronera and Otangi rivers converge to form this pool. Although hippos are common in all the rivers of the region, this deep pool is the best place in the Serengeti to see these enormous and fascinating animals. Picnic lunch inside the park in the heart of the savanna. Full-board accommodation at Serengeti Ikoma Tented Camp or Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma.
Day 7. Serengeti – Ngorongoro Area + Walking Safari
In the morning, we’ll go on a game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, we’ll join an armed ranger for a walking safari with Maasai guides on the rim of the crater; the walk may last 1 to 2 hours. Afterward, we’ll head to the town of Karatu to spend the night at Farm of Dreams Lodge or Karatu Tented Camp.
Day 8. P. N. – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
Early in the morning, we’ll head down to one of the wonders of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater, where we’ll begin our search for the endangered black rhinoceros, which lives alongside more than 25,000 other mammals. We’ll also go on a safari to the Munge River area, where we’ll see lions with darker manes. At midday, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch inside the Crater in front of a marsh, watching the hippos bathe. After lunch, we’ll continue our safari en route as we leave the Crater and head toward the town of Arusha, where we’ll spend the night at the Kibo Palace Hotel.
